LAZY SUNDAYS

I’ve decided to try and start adding some occasional commentary and updates to this blog. Shakas and Single Fins (est. 2006) has evolved alot since it’s humble beginnings as a blogspot. What started as an inspiration board of eclectic surf-centric stuff I was finding online (like T.Moe and Andy Davis art), it became a creative outlet for myself and an opportunity to share my budding passion with photography and surf culture to anyone who was interested in taking a look. It slowly became a photo blog of just my own work as my creative work steadily grew. It’s move to Tumblr a few years ago was not great for web traffic at the time but was made as a decision because, frankly, I didn’t care as much about site hits and Tumblr looked SO much better. Clean and simple. As 2013 begins (wow, is it March already?), I’ve found my body of work continues to grow along with increasing opportunities to work with great surfers, artists, and companies on their creative endeavors. As a photograph can tell a story (especially a small group of them together), I have realized that so in turn this blog can help that story along… and there is more to share then just a few photos with the small community of likeminded surfers, fellow photographers, surfboard shapers, graphic designers, shop owners, craftsmen, and artists that occasionally check in on this site.
