• HESS HANDPLANES

  

  Handplanes via Danny Hess.  Here is some verbage from Danny from the Mollusk Surf Shop site:

  “I’ve been building these handplanes for many years out of all sorts of materials. They give you more glide and planing ability and allow you to ride in and make parts of the wave you wouldn’t have otherwise.

  These latest, refined versions are the result of many experiments in rocker, outline, and bottom contour. Each plane is custom glued and shaped by hand from green certified poplar. They are made entirely of offcuts from my surfboard building process. I seal them with my own natural linseed oil recipe.

  As a good friend once told me, “I’ve occasionally had a bad time surfing, but I’ve never had a bad time body surfing.”
